Myo-fascial release

Myofascial release is a manual therapy technique used to address issues related to the fascia and muscles in the body. Fascia is a connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, bones, organs, and other structures throughout the body. Myofascial release aims to release tension, restrictions, and adhesions within the fascia and muscles to promote improved movement, flexibility, and overall well-being. Myofascial release is utilized in various healthcare disciplines, including physical therapy, massage therapy, and chiropractic care. It can be beneficial for addressing a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, musculoskeletal disorders, sports injuries, and postural issues.

  • If any type of injury to soft tissue occurs, fascia is loosing its fluidity and becomes more rigid in that location
  • Can stick to underlying tissue and create adhesions which are restricting movement, it can be palpated as a fascial knots
  • In this case the tissue is loosing the possibility to communicate and function properly
