Contraindications

Here is a list of medical conditions when massage and other supportive therapies should be withheld or consulted with your vet. If you have any doubts according to your horse conditions, always consult with your vet first.

  • Cardiovascular problems
  • Cancer
  • Colic
  • Suspected hemorrhaging

Should never be done

  • Fever (general or local infection)
  • Recent operations or acute injury
  • Neuritis (radiating nerve pain)
  • Skin diseases: fungal or bacterial infections, including rain rot

Affected area can not be treated, the rest can be done

  • Undiagnosed lumps or bumps
  • Pregnancy
  • Bruising
  • Cuts
  • Sunburn
  • Fractures
  • Inflammation
  • Persisted undiagnosed pain
